Tune into your senses this weekend

Enjoy fully the taste of your food.  Slow down your chewing so you can enjoy each bite.

Stop and smell the roses.  No, I mean literally- stop and smell the roses or any other flowers or plants that cross your path (or are on the side of your path)

Listen to the sounds of nature.  As I write this, I am hearing the crickets.  I don’t particularly like crickets but now that I a paying attention to their sounds, it can take me to a memory of my family in Yosemite where the sounds of crickets were the only sounds we heard for long stretches of time.  Listen to the birds.  Listen to the cute sounds of babies and young children.  Listen to great music.

Notice the visual beauty around you; the beauty of nature, or the way you partner looks all dressed up, or your child’s smile.

Notice how you feel emotionally and physically.  Do some gentle stretching to notice your body and where you are flexible and where you are not.  Tune in to your level of emotional tension and allow some of that tension to let go.

Your 5 senses are a great portal to the here and now.  Spend time there and give your overworked mind a rest!
