If you have children, you may have heard that it is important to have a united front.
It’s true! It is better to go along with your spouse even if you disagree than correct her (or him) in front of the kids.
You can always pull your spouse aside away from children and state your case but the kids need to see you united. Even if you think it is good for your kids to do it your way; even if you think your spouse is way off, the benefits of having parents with a united front outweighs the disadvantages of doing it your spouse’s way (no matter how much you disagree).
Of course if there is abuse, that is a different story and kids do need protection. Children who have parents who present with a united front may be frustrated because they cannot divide and conquer, but they are also more secure and relaxed.
